Just getting the ball rolling

This is the Character Directory and Profiles thread for Twilight Lagoon (http://amazonia.moonwarrior.com/index.php?topic=22.0); get your character okayed by brooklyn, post it here, then join in the fun.

I'm going to make a separate post for each of the characters I'm running; I would recommend that other people do the same.  Include a physical description and as much detail into the character's background and abilities as you are comfortable sharing; brooklyn should already have a full character profile for each character, but this should help put out the information that is concievably 'public' so that we can all stay on the same page when dealing with these characters. 

When more information becomes generally known, it might be a nice idea to update your character's entry instead of posting additional replies.  This should help to keep the thread from becoming too unwieldy.  Hopefully it will also help to keep the thread from spamming the actual RP threads into oblivion...

Name: Henry "Hank" Farnsworth

Age: 19

Sex: Male

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 195 lbs

Appearance: (Include hair color, hair style, eye color, body shape, skin color and clothing)
If it weren't for his name, most people would believe that Hank was oriental.  His body is tall and slender, with narrow hips and fairly broad shoulders.  His face is somewhat round, with deep dimples and widely spaced dark, almond-shaped eyes.  His hair is black, but lustrous so that it almost seems blue in some light.  He has deeply tanned skin and wears conservatively cut expensive clothes, usually black slacks, a black button-down shirt, and a tie.

Skills: (Not to be confused with powers. More like what are you good at or what are your hobbies)
Hank has studied jujitsu since he was old enough to walk- his father (divorced from his mother after she grew) felt that Hank ought to learn how to protect himself.  Hank was an able pupil and is, in fact, a highly skilled judoka.  He's also quite bright- he figured out very early that he was never going to be able to physically overpower one of the superior women, so he's always made every effort to be gentlemanly inoffensive.  For the most part, he's been successful.  He has a quick wit and a sharp tongue when riled, however, and has occasionally gotten himself into rather more trouble than he could get out of on his own without help.  Fortunately, Yvie has been his friend since they were both in kindergarten together, and they've always looked out for each other.  In addition to his physical skills, Hank is a gifted singer and guitar player.  He's also a fairly good composer, although he can't write lyrics at all.  Finally, he's just a bit of a computer nerd and is majoring in graphic design in college.  Hank is extremely agile, and nearly as skilled with striking arts as with grappling (punching and kicking are integral parts of his style of jujitsu), although he prefers not to allow people to know about it.

Likes:
Yvie, for one thing, although he doesn't think of her in terms of dating at all.  He's very much a sensitive guy and likes poetry, story-telling, singing, and dancing (and he's a very good dancer).  Food is a subject that he can pretty much take or leave- he eats because otherwise he'd die, but he doesn't really think about it at all.  He's extremely interested in science of all kinds, but especially physics, which he sees as the starting and ending point of all other sciences.

Dislikes:
Willful stupidity.  It's one of the things that he and Yvie go round and round about, because he thinks she should be pushing herself much harder and she's just not interested.  He also is outraged by injustice in any form, but, being much less physically capable than the various women in his life, he has learned to deal with things in subtle, sometimes even underhanded ways.  He also subscribes to the theory of Generalized Reciprocity, and attempts to do good things for people whenever it is within his power to do so.

Name:Yvonne "Yvie" Burkhardt

Age: 19

Yvie was a gymnast all though school right up until The Change.  She had been under five feet tall, barely weighing a hundred pounds soaking wet and in combat boots.  Petite was a word that she loathed with a burning, fiery passion.  The Change, however, reversed all that.  She grew.  A lot.  She still retains much of the gymnast's physique she had as a girl- wasp waist, incredibly firm butt and legs- but it's been augmented by her massive upper torso.  Even in this day and age, with girls and women having grown so outrageuosly, Yvie's upper body development is remarkable.  Her shoulders are immense, her arms gargantuan.  She has to buy her tops specially tailored because they simply don't manufacture sleeves to fit.  Apart from her intimidating figure, Yvie is pretty in the way college-aged girls almost always are, but not the sort of staggering beauty that caused traffic to grind to a halt.  She has dark brown hair and green eyes, a modest bust (it would actually be quite large, but the sheer mass of her torso brings it into proportion).  Her skin is quite fair, but she doesn't burn easily- instead, she freckles.  She wears her hair in a fairly short bob, parted on the right.  Yvie likes to wear tomboyish clothes- jeans and blouses, sweaters, sweats.  She doesn't particularly like to wear skirts or dresses, and she hates wearing anything too tight against her arms.

Yvie is a gymnast and a dancer.  Additionally, since The Change, Yvie has embraced weight training whole-heartedly and enjoys growing bigger and stronger than pretty much anyone around her.  She has a pretty typical high school education and is looking at majoring in something that isn't overly taxing in college- business administration, possibly, or philosophy.  Yvie isn't stupid at all, but she isn't super intelligent, either, and she doesn't really want to have to push herself mentally any more than she has to.

Likes:
Boys.  Yvie really does like boys- she thinks they have cooler games, treat each other better, and are generally more fun to be around than girls.  Despite that, most boys are intimidated by her, so she has worked hard at being pleasant to pretty much everybody.  She loves being strong and fast and agile, and she works hard at being the strongest, fastest, most agile person she knows.  She can be pretty single-minded about this, in fact, and not always in a good way.  She also loves good food and good music, and occasionally enjoys taking in a movie, but she doesn't watch television at all.  She just plain doesn't understand computers.

Dislikes:
Pickles.  Don't ask why- there's no reason.  She also dislikes petty mind-games, and refuses to play them.  She hates to see stronger people picking on weaker people, and will physically intervene when she sees it happening (she doesn't see the contradiction inherent in this behavior- to her, it's justice.)  She hates it when she's the last person to get a joke, and she hates it when she feels like someone is making fun of her because she's not as smart as them.

Special Abilities:  Yvie has no special abilities beyond those granted by the Change.  She's probably the strongest character outside of Sylph in terms of raw, physical power, but her massive size can also be a pretty significant hindrance for her (she can rarely ride in elevators, for example...)

[Sylph]

Name: Sylph

Age: 19

Height: 5'4"

Weight: 1,545 lbs (!)- muscle and bone density far surpassing normal

Appearance:  Sylph is a walking anomaly, even among the massively muscled maidens of Twilight Lagoon; facially, she's beautiful- chestnut hair; large, warm brown eyes; high cheekbones and an aristocratic nose.  Her body, on the other hand, is breathtaking in a completely different way.  Sylph has very large breasts, but they tend to be lost even so on her massive frame- the first impression most people have when seeing her is that she is actually wider than she is tall.  While this is not literally true, it's not too far from it.  All of her musculature is absurdly hypertrophied.  She literally designs and sews almost all of her clothes because there is precious little available commercially that even comes close to fitting her.  She usually dresses quite casually- sweat pants or shorts and t-shirts, but she enjoys dressing in girly clothes, too.

Skills:  Sylph is a gifted artist, especially in chalk, pencil, and watercolors.  She's very bright, as well, and exceptionally good at applying her skills to new situations.  She is an expert seamstress and tailor, a skill she developed out of self-preservation since she cannot seem to help but destroy her clothes entirely by accident every now-and-again.  In addition to her natural (okay- supernatural) strength, Sylph is an expert on weight training, exercise, human physiology, and diet.  She is a natural peacemaker, very open and friendly; combined with her massively intimidating physical form, it's very rare for Sylph to get into an argument with anyone.

Likes:  Her friends especially, but people in general.  Drawing is a passion for her, and she can often be found sitting quietly with a sketch pad, just filling up page after page.  Although Sylph enjoyed being drunk the one time she was, she hates the idea of not being in control (she's frightened of how much damage she could do) and the hangover the next morning was murder.  Sylph really enjoys doing pretty much anything physical except for swimming- she just does not float at all.  Although she would never admit it, Sylph is just a little bit of an exhibitionist.

Dislikes:  Being called clumsy (she's not clumsy, but she is somewhat accident prone).  She also really dislikes getting in fights or arguments and works hard to avoid them.

Special (?) Ability: Just as Sylph is much larger than the other girls of Twilight Lagoon, so is her actual physical strength.  Unfortunately, this massive increase in strength has not been accompanied with the increases in speed and agility that the other girls have gained.  While Sylph is quite agile and reasonably fast, she is by no means superhuman in that regard, a fact that sometimes (often) results in accidental damage.  Sylph really has no other special abilities other than those provided by dramatic necessity- under normal circumstances, Sylph can do what Sylph can do.  Under extreme circumstances, however, Sylph will act without consideration for her own safety, often heroically if the situation calls for it; under these circumstances, the GM may opt to allow her to perform outside of her normal limitations.  It's not something that should always work or always happen, though, and it should only ever work if the action of the moment makes it good for the story.

There has been some information about Sylph, recently, that has garnered media attention- for details, read Sylph, Chapter 11 (http://stmercy2020.deviantart.com/art/Sylph-Chapter-11-67104367) over at my dA page.  Also, brooklyn, I've changed Sylph's eye color (last time, I swear) to be more in keeping with (a) her background and (b) the artwork I've had commisioned for her.

Name: Shinji Ivanov Kagami

Age: 21

Sex: Male

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 205 lbs

Appearance: Shinji has medium length dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. His skin complexion is a light tan and he has a lean-muscled build. He is found usually wearing a black graphic shirt with loose-fitting jeans, a black studded belt, black Chuck Taylor's, and a pair of dogtags hanging around his neck. Shinji also carries a pair of red handwraps in his right pocket since he always wants to be ready in case if someone wants to go at it or if he needs to help someone out of a jam.

Skills: Shinji is very fluent in the art of Muay Thai, making him an expert in hand-to-hand combat. He has been practicing that for quite some time but he hasn't taken up on any grappling or joint-locking arts such as Jujutsu or Judo. He doesn't feel the need to do so since he finds those kinds of arts rather boring. Shinji has a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to cars. He can expertly fabricate parts specifically made for modifying and increasing the performance of the car, given that he has the right tools at the moment. Therefore, he is an expert behind the wheel as well with drifting as his prominent style of driving.

Likes: Training, hanging out, racing, making his cars better with each part he puts into them and sparring

Dislikes: Judo, Jujitsu and any other art that involves grappling and/or joint-locking, people with big mouths, cocky people.

Name: Amy Granger

Age: 16

Sex: Female

Height: 6'1"

Weight:435 lbs (muscle and bone density)

Appearance: Amy has fiery-red hair that reaches to her lower back and emerald green eyes. She is Caucasian but her skin is somewhat bronzed. She is very muscular but most of her body is proportionate in a feminine sense. She is usually wearing a deep blue shirt that is modified to be a dress as well, a large white belt over her shirt to where her waist is, jeans that basically hug her muscular and powerful legs and white flat shoes.

Skills: Amy has a natural talent for drawing and art, even before she experienced her growth spurt. She can work with almost any medium, but she usually prefers a sketchpad, a few pencils, erasers and drawing pens. This ability of hers allowed her to earn a full ride to an art institute at the Eastern Coast of the United States, so she is pretty much set when she graduates.

Likes: Drawing, taking time for herself, going to the beach, hanging out with her friends and just having fun

Dislikes: People who interrupt her studio sessions, rain (when she is doing a nature piece outside), stuck on an artist block

Name: Katherine "Kitty" Dettwiller

Age: 18

Sex: Female

Height: 5'7"

Weight: 563 lbs

Appearance: Kitty has platinum blond hair that reaches up to her upper back/ neck area and honey-hazel eyes. She is very muscular due to The Change, but keeps femininity and grace to go along with her body as well. Her body is massive and large, but she also has a nice rack to go along with it. She can be found usually wearing a crimson red tanktop with lightwashed denim mini-skirt and crimson red thigh high socks.

Skills: Kitty is skilled in most physical activities, almost to be considered a natural. However, this is highly false because her father trained her in various sports when she was a younger kid. But she quickly detested some of these sports and so she stopped playing professionally when the growth spurt happened. However, she has not given up on the sport that her father does not dictate and that is martial arts. She trains with Hank and his sensei when they were younger kids and she still does, however she has incorporated various other martial arts to go along with her training. Kitty is also an avid cook as she likes to make various recipes, most of them on the spot.

Secret Ability: Kitty is actually a psychic, though this was one thing that she has concealed even to her parents. How this ability came to her, not even she knows that one for sure. What she does know is that she is telekinetic, telepathic, and she can levitate herself.

Personality: Kitty has a kind, sunny, somewhat bubbly personality. She is a pacifist at heart and she hates to see other people fight in front of her. She would never think of using her powers to hurt people, but she doesn't mind showing off as long as its on a safe scale. However, she would not hesitate to use her powers to help out people when they are in a jam (i.e, a semi-truck hanging off a cliff)

Likes: Cooking, hanging out, making friends, training with Hank, Hank, seeing how much she can lift by herself, playing sports on a leisurely level

Dislikes: Professional sports, watching sports, watching other people get hurt, not being able to help other people out of a jam

Name: Berkah "Burke" Kristiono

Age: 38

Sex:  Male

Height:  5'7" (170 cm)

Weight: 165 lbs. (75 kg)

Appearance: Dark black hair in bangs, dark brown eyes, thin body, coffee-with-cream tone skin, and button down shirts and dark trousers that haven't changed style since 1986.

Skills: Very good with numbers and finding the right thing to his customer's tastes and needs.  Friendly and open attitude.  Very frugal, and can get the most use out of anything.  Great at scrounging; if his store hasn't got it, he can get it.

Likes:  Life in America, helping someone achieve a goal or dream, prawn crackers

Dislikes:  Firearms, people not having purpose or wasting their gifts or opportunities, seeing money wasted on vices, getting pestered by his mother about marrying.

Burke was born in the isle of Java, Indonesia.  Ever since he'd seen it on TV, he'd always been fascinated with America and life there, and made it his lifelong dream to move there.  And with hard study, dedication and discipline in schooling, he soon earned a scholarship and a grant from a "pen pal" family in Twilight Lagoon to go to Azusa University.

Of course, the pictures of the family were BEFORE the chemicals leaked into the water.  When he arrived in LAX, seeing the hosting mother and daughter was a bit of a shock.

Despite this, he forged onward, graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration, and with loans, started and founded an Asian import grocery/convenience mart.  One of the oddities of his market is that he stoutly refuses to sell alcohol, tobacco, pornography, or lottery tickets.  While he doesn't make a killing, he does make a living.  And he profits enough to help those in need.  He's generous to a fault.  In fact, he recently volunteered to take in and house an inner city student fleeing a gang-ridden neighborhood and attending a private academy in Twilight Lagoon.

Name:  Roosevelt Lee Simpson

Age:  16

Sex:  Male

Height:  5'6"  (168 cm)

Weight:  150 lbs. (70.5 kg)

Appearance:   Black, shortly cut curly hair, dark brown eyes, medium-slight body, dark skin, blue jeans, L.A. Lakers jersey, heather grey hoodie, red Converse All-Star canvas high-tops.

Skills:  Great with languages:  fluent in Spanish, knows some Mandarin Chinese and Japanese; pretty good with shade-tree mechanics and appliance/electronics repair.

Likes:  fiddling with gadgets, shop class, R/C devices, Will Smith music and movies.

Dislikes:  His old 'hood, "thugg gangsta" life or those that try to play up to it, rap music that emulates the above.

Roosevelt came from a very, VERY rotten, crime-ridden neighborhood.  His old housing project had barbed wire to keep the residents IN, not others out.  Abandoned by his dad, his single mother fought tooth and nail to keep him safe, in school, and focused.  And while he worked his dangdest to stay away from the drugs, the gangs, the guns,  and all that crud, the Emporia Street Bangaz did their dangdest to rope him in.  In fact, the previous year, the Bangaz were threatening him with a beatdown every Monday at school unless he joined their ranks.

Well, finally, the local police officers in his neck of the jungle had amassed a fund to help the students that were determined to beat the streets.  Regrettably, the crime had gotten so bad, they simply used it as a scholarship fund for the handful of students that showed promise and more than a tinker's d?!n about their lives.

Roosevelt made it.  And with phone calls, he got a place to stay with Burke Kristiono, got a private school's application, got approved, got the tuition, got a bus ticket, and he got out of Dodge.

He's got no real clue what the folks are like in Twilight Lagoon.  He heard it was a kinda liberal "sensitive man/liberated woman" white-bread town.  He figures, whatever.  It's gotta be better than the old 'hood.

But something he hasn't told ANYBODY else... not ever his own mother... he keeps a Colt .38 revolver on his person or nearby at almost all times.  Just in case... someone from the ghetto comes a-callin'.

Name: Bella

Age: 46

Sex: female

Height: 6'10"

Weight: 645lbs.

Appearance: Blond one length hair about 4.5' long, violet-blue eyes, half Scottish and half American Indian and her skin is tanned a deep bronze. She has high cheek bones a small slightly turned up nose and full lips that make for a beautiful smile. And although the corners of her eyes show the wrinkles of her age they give her a wise and gentle motherly look. Before the change she was a avid body builder and power lifter she stood 6'2" weighed 255lbs. and a very muscular body even by male standards having 20" upper arms when flexed and a body proportional to that while she still had very large breasts. Of course after the change these physical traits became magnified with her growing 8" taller and her muscle mass increasing by over 2 1/2 times making her 6'10" 645lbs. with muscular size she never imagined her flexed bicep's and triceps measuring an incredible 46" forearms 41" her shoulders over 48" across her chest including her huge breast a mind blowing 78" her abs looking like an 8 pack made of softballs with her 46" waist and 56" hips and bulging steel glut's her long legs becoming 43"1/2" at her inseam not to mention her legs growing thick as tree trunks ripping with cable thick cords of muscle that rippled and bulged with her slightest movement. Which could be said of the rest of her body. She found herself amazed by how awesomely powerful she'd become loving to lift and work-out even more then she had before. Wanting to test her strength and watch her huge muscles bulging larger with each different exercise or lift. How much stronger and bigger she grew from these efforts visible almost at once. She was forced to wear the largest male tee shirts of sweat shirts she could find cutting off the sleeves to make room for her huge muscular arms and cut the collars from them for thick corded neck and traps. Most all of them fitting her like half shirt and she simply the bottoms of the others so she could tie them. For her lower half she wore wrap shorts she made herself or a pair of super large Levi's that used to be used as an advertising display a size 56" waist that allowed them to fit over her ass and hips after cutting them into short shorts because there was no way the legs were going to fit over her thighs with the addition of a belt to pull them tight around her waist they look rather cute even if the first time she wore them they ripped a bit farther up the out side seam from her huge thighs flexing a little when she moved. To cover her feet she found socks to fit at the gym pro shop along with a cute pair of size 16 New Balance white trainers. She went to a professional seamstress to get herself three two piece string bikinis to swim tan and pose in.

Likes: Being as strong as I can. Posing and showing off my muscular development for myself and others. Working-out and exercising in general. Being so much bigger and stronger then my husband since the change (much to my surprise he does too) Competing with others in arm wrestling ect Love to arm wrestle my husband especially letting him use both hands against my one his face always looks so cute when he tries as hard as he can and can't so much as move mine at all:) I love to swim at the beach. Going dancing with my husband and friends or just enjoying music and dancing all by myself!

Dislikes: Mean people Not being able to find clothes in my size;) Hitting my head all the time on hanging light fixtures Not being able to fit into cars or trucks anymore with out them sagging from my weight. Having to be careful not to hurt my husband or other men by accident rough housing and/or playing around. Not being able to fit enough weight plates on the weight bars at the gym to get a work-out that isn't just heaps of reps and not being able to do dumbbell isolation lifting because the heaviest ones available I can throw over hand like a baseball!
